Job Description:

  1. To establish and maintain long term relationships with clients providing comprehensive financial solutions according to client needs.
  2. Build and manage a book of both existing and referred clients.
  3. Perform annual reviews and handle client queries.
  4. Analyze financial information obtained from clients to determine strategies for meeting clients financial objectives.
  5. Prepare Investment Proposals, meet with prospective clients and present a financial plan.
  6. Perform all necessary administrative duties associated with the above.
  7. Continuously broaden your knowledge base and to keep up to date technically by researching current trends.
  8. Be part of a team dynamic that strives for excellent customer service, sound and practical advice.
  9. Grow economic, financial, legal, technical and tax knowledge to assess and advise portfolio clients on a broad range of financial issues and solutions.
  10. Be prepared to study further such as completing the required Regulatory Exam (RE) 5, Certified Financial Planner (CFP) under-graduate Diploma in Financial Planning.

Requirements:

Harvard House is looking for a Bookkeeper to join their Accounting and Tax team.

Job Description:

  1. Full bookkeeping function from source documents and statements to bank reconciliations to processing of journals to management accounts for a list of clients.
  2. Taking full responsibility for a list of monthly clients (VAT, PAYE, UIF and SDL) and managing the processing and preparation thereof to meet the various SARS and internal deadlines.
  3. Taking full responsibility for a list of accounting investment clients and managing the monthly processing thereof to meet the various SARS and internal deadlines.
  4. Keeping up to date with changes in the VAT Act and other relevant legislation
  5. Assisting annual accounting clients with various bookkeeping and processing needs ad hoc.
  6. Taking full responsibility for the completion and submission of the EMP501 declarations on e@syFile and managing the workflow thereof to meet the SARS deadlines.
  7. Updating and maintaining the Greatsoft CRM system (accounting software) for the addition of clients, deletion of clients, changes to client details, disbursements, write-offs and other ad hoc updates.
  8. Keeping a weekly timesheet to record time.

  13. A knowledge of the SARS eFiling system and e@syFile system would be beneficial
